Ain't no rest for the wicked
Between 16-22 June 2026, Ingalicia has participated in a Youth Exchange organized by JCV In Action (Red Cross) in Braga. The Youth Exchange was conducted with organisations from Greece, Estonia, Portugal and Spain. Participants from each country were able to share their viewpoints and opinions based on their experiences in their countries.
The Youth Exchange was on Quality Employment exploring your employment rights, how to find and respect your work-life balance, putting boundaries, ideas on different type of employment and much more. The schedule was filled with many group activities were participants got to work as a team , as well as, tasks with individual reflections so everyone could come up with their personal conclusions regarding employment.
The objective of the project was «to promote quality employment by raising awareness of labour rights, fair working conditions, and social protection, while helping participants better understand the changing labour market. It creates inclusive spaces for sharing experiences, building confidence, and exploring pathways to meaningful and sustainable employment.»
Some of the activities were :
Stress bucket – where previously all participants anonymously wrote their concerns about employment on a piece of paper and put it in a bucket. Everyday a new paper was picked out and a discussion was opened between participants to share advice.
Brainstorming – Many joint thinking sessions were conducted. Personal values, personal priorities about employment, thoughts on AI, Sustainability and Gig economy within employment.
Skills Auction- One of the favourite activities of the week was working in teams based on a profile of an employee that we needed and then participating in an auction of skills with a limited budget against other teams. Wonderful teamwork, budgeting and prioritisation.
All activities were very insightful and brought interesting and distinct opinions of all participants to light. Everyone concluded the week with some valuable takeaways and action points that we will apply in our next employment places and companies.
