DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

DONDE: TALLIN (ESTONIA)

CUANDO: DESDE EL 6 DE SEPTIEMBRE 2015 HASTA EL 5 DE AGOSTO 2016

ACTIVIDAD: COLABORAR CON UN CENTRO JUVENIL DE LA CIUDAD

REQUISITOS: TENER ENTRE 18 Y 29 AÑOS, CONOCIMIENTOS MEDIOS DE INGLÉS, MOTIVACIÓN Y DISPONIBILIDAD PARA SALIR YA!

When first arriving to Estonia, there are lot of activities concerning getting acquainted with the host organizations and their projects, visiting the youth work organizations, our partner organizations etc. There will be a 2-days training to introduce the basics of the youth work in order to support your acclimatisation in the working environment, many meetings to get to know your colleagues and the city and the local culture will be introduced by the mentors. During first months, an Estonian language course will take place to facilitate the communication between you and the locals.

In October, during the Tallinn Youth Week and children school vacation lots of various activities are taking place in the youth centers, Kultuurikatel and other places in Tallinn, where all of you will be actively involved.
From November, a series of cultural evenings will be organized in cooperation between you, your tutors and other international volunteers from all over Tallinn. Cultural evenings will mainly take place in different Tallinn youth centers and other places in Tallinn according to the ideas of the volunteers and partner organizations.
According to the your personal interests and the needs of the hosting organisations, here are some activities that we have agreed with each volunteer individually to carry out throughout the entire service period:

– assisting children with their homework and teaching them about social media;
– organizing intercultural events and art workshops;
– planning and implementing Spanish language club;
– making a short documentary about hes EVS in Kristiine youth center;
– organizing and implementing video and photography workshops based on the interest of youngsters.

Additionally, all volunteers will be:
– meeting with young people and supporting them in their activities during all the EVS period;
– helping colleagues in preparing and conducting the already happening events or clubs in Tallinn;
– organizing intercultural events (cultural evenings, celebrating Turkish, Spanish and Belgium holidays, sharing traditional cuisine, playing music, videos and games from their home countries etc.).

ASPECTOS PRÁCTICOS

Food: you will prepare your own meals in a fully equipped kitchen of the youth hostel you will stay during the project. The payment with the food money (max 160 Euros per month) will be made according to the receipts that you will collect monthly (we will explain it better when you arrive) and transferred to the your Estonian bank account (which will be set-up during the first week after arrival).

Accommodation: while in Tallinn, you will be accommodated in a youth hostel. Its shared with other people (kitchen, bathrooms, common room), but each of you will have your own bedroom. The rooms and kitchen are fully equipped, so no need to bring your own sheets towels etc. The accommodation is located in the city center or nearby your workplace – actually, its a part of Kesklinna youth center!
Working hours, days off per week, holidays: You will work an average of 6-7 hours per day on weekdays. The weekends are usually free and in case you are asked to work in weekend (on some special occasion), you will have that time off during the week. In addition, each of you also accumulates 2 days off per month (2days per 11 months, so all together 22 days per year): the vacation period should be agreed between you and your host organization.

Monthly allowance: in Estonia the monthly allowance is 85 euros per month (its in addition to the food money). The money will be transferred to the your Estonian bank account once per month every month during the project.
